CITY OASIS
CITY OASIS
Tucked within the energy of New York, this outdoor retreat feels a world away from the city. Designed by Tyler Banken for the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, the space extends the experience of the home beyond its walls.
Outside the Ordinary
In New York, an outdoor space is an escape in itself. For the Kips Bay Decorator Show House, Tyler Banken imagined the terrace as more than a place beyond the home. Every element was considered with the same intention as an interior, creating a space that feels like a natural continuation of the rooms within. At the center of that vision, a John Michael outdoor kitchen brings the experience of cooking and entertaining into the open air. Surrounded by layers of greenery, the stainless steel cabinetry feels at home within the landscape while bringing the performance of an indoor kitchen outside. The result is a space that feels intimate, unexpected and far removed from the city just beyond its walls.
